"MaMa Sharon" Irving
SPRINGFIELD, IL - Sharon R. "MaMa Sharon" Irving, 53, of Springfield, died at 4:57 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Auburn Nursing and Rehab Center.
She was born July 15, 1960, in Hinsdale, Ill., to John Edwin and Wilma Jean Wren Dunn. She married Robert Irving on Feb. 23, 1980.
She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Bob Irving; four daughters: Renee (Stephen) Boastick of Springfield, Amy (Christopher) Tutt of Auburn, Judy (Bill) Riley of Springfield and Trudy (Mike) Bernstein of Virden; 11 grandchildren; two sisters, Lisa (Billy) Huddleston and Jeanie Hadley, both of Columbia, Ky.; one brother, David (Pam) Dunn of California; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother-in-law, Clayton Hadley; and one nephew, Curtis Hadley.
Sharon was a member of Kumler United Methodist Church. She loved to crochet, play BINGO, and was a die-hard Cub fan. She was the love of Bob's life, "mom to many" and had a Heart as big as Texas. She was affectionately referred to by those close to her as "MaMa Sharon" and "Gee Gee" to her grandkids.
She worked at Eagle Foods for 14 years and most recently was a personal assistant for the Dept. of Rehabilitation Services.
Memorial Gathering: 4:00-6:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at Staab Funeral Home. The family requests casual attire be worn.
Memorial Service: 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at Staab Funeral Home, the Rev. Robert Freeman officiating.
