Aaron A. Vangeison

DIVERNON, IL - Aaron A. Vangeison, 84, of Divernon passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at his home.

He was born October 27, 1928, in Pawnee, the son of David and Lillian Ennis Vangeison.

Aaron married Betty Anne Young on September 27, 1947.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Harold, Raymond, Donald and twin, Myron, and one sister, Martha.

Aaron was a Veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. He was employed by the State of Illinois for 25 years as the Deputy State Registrar for the Department of Public Health-Vital Records retiring in 1988. He served on the Board at Pawnee U.M.C. and was a Worshipful Master of Pawnee Masonic Lodge in which he was a member for 55+ years and Master 3 times. Aaron was also the Past President of Pawnee Lions Club, and a member of D.A.V. American Legion and Ansar Shrine. He also served as a Cubmaster, Scoutmaster, and Explorer Adviser. He was currently a member of the Divernon United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Betty; one son, Keith Vangeison of Rockport, Mass.; two daughters, Kay Parnell of Kentucky and Vickie Bly of Divernon; nine grandchildren, David (companion, Francene), Grace (Chris) Johnston, Tara (companion, Jamie) Puma, Eric (Missy) Larson, Amanda Jobe, Kami (fiancée, Phil) Larson, Nicole (Jeremy) Rhodes, Tiffany (companion, Brady) Bly, and Krystal Bly; 10 great-grandchildren, Hailey Puma, Devon, Colton, Kaleb and Izabelle Larson, Jonathan and Katelyn Croghan, Kaylee Jobe, Aaron Bly, and Hudson Rhodes; two sisters, Dorothy (Taylor) Sandidge and Ella Berry; three sister-in-laws, BJ, Coralie and Joanne; one brother-in-law, Bill; many treasured nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Sunday, April 21, 2013, from 3 p.m. till time of Masonic Services at 6 p.m. at Bramley Funeral Home, Divernon. Services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Linda Vonck officiating. Burial will be in Horse Creek Cemetery, Pawnee.

Memorials may be made to Divernon United Methodist Church Building Fund.
