Springfield, IL—Alice J. Marks, 86, of Springfield, died at 5:25 a.m. on Thursday, August 16, 2018, at The Arbors at Centennial Pointe in Springfield.
Alice was born January 24, 1932, in Keokuk, IA, the daughter of Alfred Lee and Juanita E. Jackson Harton. She married Ernest W. Marks on June 21, 1984, in Jacksonville.
Alice graduated from Springfield High School in 1950 and received her LPN license from Lincoln Land Community College in 1980. She was employed as a psychiatric nurse at Memorial Medical Center and Doctor's Hospital. She raised six children, taught Sunday school, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Alice also enjoyed fishing, golfing, and reading.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Joy Ann Lacharite; two sons, Stanley W. Kluzek, Jr. and Keith A. Kluzek; and brother, Lee Harton.
She is survived by her husband, Ernest Marks of Springfield; children, Evelyn (husband, William) Rusciolleli of Charlotte, NC, Sandra (husband, Steve) Veith of Kingston Springs, TN, David (wife, Dana) Kluzek of Lubbock, TX, Martin Marks of Pittsburgh, PA, Michael (wife, Laura) Marks of Jacksonville, IL, and Jeffrey Marks of Springfield; thirteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; siblings, Pat (husband, Bob) Hill of San Diego, CA and Jan (husband, Maurice) Dullenty of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.
Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies.
Memorial Gathering and Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. on Thursday, September 6, 2018, at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. A Memorial Ceremony will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating.
Burial will be at a later date at Roselawn Memorial Park.
