SPRINGFIELD - Anita Louise Bloechle, 92 of Springfield died at 9:20 p.m. on Monday October 29, 2012 at St. Joseph's Home. She was born on July 1, 1920 in Chatham, Illinois the daughter of Louis and Alvina Ludtke Wallner. She married Paul Bloechle on December 20, 1941 in Kansas City, Kansas; he preceded her in death on June 2, 2002.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and two sisters Amanda Boehme and Pauline Corrigan.

She is survived by one daughter Joanne (James) Schubarth of Torrance, CA; two sons, Donald Bloechle of Rockaway, NJ; and Michael (Lois) Bloechle of Springfield, IL. Three grandchildren; Daniel Schubarth of New Orleans, LA; Julie (Mike) Long of Lakewood, CA and 2Lt. Anne Bloechle, United States Marine Corps; two great grandchildren; Jamie and Irene long of Lakewood, CA. one sister; Alberta Nation of Jacksonville, IL and two brothers Richard (Winnie) Wallner of Litchfield, IL and Herman (Mary) Wallner of Fordsville, Ky.

Anita was a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing and was very creative. She was an accomplished quilter who helped design and sew hundreds of quilts which were donated to Lutheran World Relief. She was a kind and giving person who was very involved in her church community.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and she was a member of the Evening Optimisses Club. She was a former member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.

Visitation: St John's Lutheran Church ,2477 W. Washington, Springfield, IL 62702 Monday November 5, 2012 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am.

Funeral Service: St John's Lutheran Church 11:00 am Rev. Greg Busboom officiating. Burial will follow in Farmington Cemetery west of Springfield.

Memorial Contributions: St. Joseph's Home of Springfield 3306 South 6th Street Road Springfield, IL 62703 and Lutheran World Relief P.O. Box 17061 Baltimore, MD 21297-1061.
