Anthony P. "Tony" Dubosh 1922 - 2018
Virden, IL—Anthony P. "Tony" Dubosh, 96, of Virden, IL passed away at 10:29 A.M. Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at St. John's Hospital, Springfield, IL.
Anthony was born on January 1, 1922 the son of John J. and Veronica (Marcinko) Dubosh in Virden, IL. He was a graduate of Virden High School class of 1939.
Anthony joined the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1943 and was an Airplane Engine Repairman and his specialty was Navigation. He was a 2nd Lt. and his occupational specialty was a Flight Engineer. Anthony graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Accounting. He later attended DePaul University where he graduated with his law degree in 1953. Anthony returned to Virden where he practiced law from 1953 to 2017, 64 years. He was a member of the Illinois State Bar. Anthony was a member of Sacred Heart Church and a member of the V.F.W. and the Virden American Legion Post 386. Anthony was an avid walker and was involved with long term studies. He loved spending time with his siblings, their families and he loved the outdoors and helping others in the community. Anthony loved to cook and he also loved animals.
Surviving Anthony are several nieces and nephews. Preceding Anthony in death are his parents; brothers, John, Steve and infant Andrew "Andy" Dubosh; sisters, Mary Horne, Margaret Takach and Vera Leonard.
Visitation will be from 9:00 – 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at the Calvert & Ferry Funeral Home, Virden, IL. There will be a brief time before the Funeral Mass for viewing at the church. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Sacred Heart Church, Virden, IL with the Rev. Father James Palakudy officiating. Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Church, Sunrise Skilled Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center or to Habitat For Humanity, 2744 South 6th Street, Springfield, IL 62703.
