Fargo, ND—Dawn Blankenship, 48 died Saturday, September 8,2018, in Fargo, ND.
A visitation will be held at Graceland Fairlawn, 2091 N Oakland Ave Decatur, on Friday, September 14 from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
Dawn was born to William E. & Diane (Weiss) Burchard on May 15, 1970. She was raised in Decatur and Niantic, IL. She found her true love, Scott Blankenship, and they were married on May 13, 1994. They both lived and worked in Illinois, North Carolina, Washington (Seattle) and North Dakota.
She is survived by her husband, Scott Blankenship: mother, Diane (Weiss) Burchard-Lahr; grandmother, Gloria (Humphrey) Gambrill; aunt, Pamela (Weiss) Stahl; uncle, Robert D. Weiss II; aunt, Debi Burchard; cousins, Shane Stahl (Brigitte) and their five children, Stephanie Moncada (Roy) and their three children, Sean Stahl, Courtney McManis (Steve) and their daughter; Christy Bruce; Bobby Weiss and family; Brandon Weiss; John Burchard (Jenny) and their four children; Andrew Burchard (Kim): In-Laws: Lonnie & Judy (Letner) Blankenship; Jack McBride; Jim McBride; Lori (Bill) and their Son; Lynn Russell; Pam (Steve) Shepherd and their two children; Kay (Richard) Goad and their daughter; Darlene Glover and their two children; Linda (Lonny) and their three children; and many other special relatives.
She is preceded in death by father, William E. Burchard Jr.; grandparents, William E. and Doris Burchard; grandfathers, Robert D. Weiss and Wayne (Gene) Gambrill; great-grandparents, Howard D. Weiss and Eliza Ann Weiss; great-grandmother, Grace (Humphrey) Grant; aunt, Cindy (Weiss) Bruce; uncle, John E. Burchard; cousin, Emma Burchard; and many other in-laws and loved ones.
Dawn was a precious wife, daughter, daughter-in-law, granddaughter, niece, and cousin. She was a very warm, kindhearted, and giving person who loved her family and being a 'Woof Mom'.
She supported numerous charities including Games for Troops, New Hope Animal Shelter, and Humane Society of Decatur. Dawn had a great love for supporting and adopting rescue animals.
