Diana Boggs

GLENARM, IL - Diana Boggs, 62, passed away at 8:05 a.m. on Monday, June 23, 2014, at Memorial Medical Center.

Diana was born April 24, 1952, in Gillespie, the daughter of Bill and Edith Hamilton Lyons. She married Mark Jamison Boggs on Feb. 3, 1973, in Gillespie.

Diana was a graduate of Gillespie High School. She began her career as a Page at the Capitol and worked for her father, who was a State Senator, when she was young. Following that, she was employed by the State for 40 years, retiring in 2004 as a Secretary for the Department of Revenue. Diana was a friendly, loveable, and outgoing person. She enjoyed reading, yard work, spending time with her grandchildren, traveling with her husband, attending orchid and botanical shows, and music and dancing, where she was always the life of the party.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents; and two brothers, Michael and Frank Lyons.

She is survived by her husband, Mark J. Boggs, of Glenarm; one son, Jamison I. (wife, Debra) Boggs of Modesto; three grandchildren, Ocean Lily, Luna Ivy, and Noah Leaf Boggs, all of Modesto; two siblings, Carol Leonard of FL and David Lyons of GA; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies.

Memorial Gathering: Family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2014, at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield.

Memorial Ceremony: 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2014, at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating.
