SPRINGFIELD - Donna Kay (Vespa) Billings, 50, of Springfield, passed away at home on Thursday, March 21, 2013, following a valiant battle against cancer.
Donna was born August 21, 1962, in Springfield, IL, the daughter of Marilyn L. Vespa and the late William Lloyd Vespa.
Donna was born and raised in Springfield and attended Springfield High School. She was active in Rainbow Girls serving as Worthy Advisor twice. She worked for the State of Illinois for over 30 years. She married Donald Billings on Feb. 14, 1988. They celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary this year.
She is survived by her husband Donald; moth-er, Marilyn Vespa of Springfield; a brother, William David (Wendy) Vespa of Pittsburgh, PA; a sister, Nancy Ann (Bill) Jennings of Batavia, OH; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles; and three stepchildren.
Visitation will be on Sunday, March 24, 2013, from 4-6 p.m. at Boardman-Smith Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Monday, March. 25, 2013, at the funeral chapel. Interment will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
