Eric Christopher Park

Eric Christopher Park, 35, of Springfield and formerly of Rochester, passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at his home.

He was born on February 11, 1979 in Springfield, the son of Greg and Kathy (Farley) Park.

Eric was a graduate of Rochester High School and Lincoln Land Community College. He was owner and operator of The Silo Portable Rock Climbing Wall for over 6 years, attending many fairs and festivals. He delivered new RVs nationwide. Alaska, Canada, and Newfoundland are among the many, many places you might have seen him. He loved traveling our beautiful country and has seen sunsets on every part of this earth.

Eric loved a good cup of coffee and great conversation. He was an avid Cardinals fan and followed Illini basketball. He loved to camp and hike the Grand Canyon from rim to rim.

He was a devoted son, loving brother, and wonderful uncle. He will be more than greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Catherine Farley and Wilson and June Park.

Eric is survived by his parents, Greg and Kathy Park of Rochester; two brothers, Brian Park of Silver City, NM and John (Tiffany) Park, of Percy; three sisters, Jennifer (Brian) Killian of Springfield, Erin (Josh) Rovey of Rolla, MO and Megan Park of Rochester, as well as several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins, and his best friend, his dog Banjo.

Visitation will be on Monday, March 17, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral mass at 12:00 noon at the Church of St. Jude in Rochester. Reverend R. Dean Probst will be officiating.

IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Protective League, Grand Canyon Association or the Church of St. Jude.
