My family has had the pleasure of knowing Geri over the last 1 1/2 years. We are saddened by the loss, but are encouraged that she has no pain or suffering in her new home, and I can picture her falling… but on a cloud (soft and comforting)!
I am grateful that I was able to learn so much about her over the last couple months - she was a strong, opinionated and giving person. She reminds me of someone I’ve lost...but her strong demanding attitude was special to me. Some may interpret opinions and demanding as bad…but if you have spent any time with those that grew up in the 40’s/50’s you realize where some of that comes from. A strong woman with a big heart!
I think I will always remember conversations I had with her. We talked a lot about the Eagles club and she taught me what the club was about and should be....friendship, responsibility, community and helping fellow Eagle members. She reminded me that the club was about the people – and the relationships we build with them. For that I am thankful.
Doug and I visited her a few weeks ago – we talked, baked sausage bread, did her hair and shared memories and food. Food as many know is the way to the heart…it was a piece of her that she could share with us. Even though she couldn’t physically assist with the making of the bread…she certainly made sure everything was done just right.
Geri loved her family; she shared photos and special mementos, and gifts from a friend. Never think that a small gesture goes unnoticed. A small bird out of a dollar bill has special memories.
Thank you Hullman family for opening your home and hearts to share with us. Geri, I will miss your laughter and much more!
