LINCOLN - Harold K. Neece, 69 of Lincoln passed away December 15, 2009 at his residence.
A memorial gathering is planned from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, December 18, 2009 at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home in Lincoln.
Memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital Building Fund and will be accepted at the funeral home.
Harold was born May 26, 1940 in Jacksonville, Illinois, the son of Howser and Elsie Neece.
Surviving are his three children: Lance Neece of Morton, Illinois; Scott Neece and his wife Amy of Lincoln, Illinois; and Jodi Thies and her husband Justin also of Lincoln, Illinois. Seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive. Four sisters: Shirley, Norma, Marilyn, and Connie survive as well.
He graduated from Lanphier High School in Springfield in 1958 and from Springfield Memorial Hospital as a Respiratory Therapist in the early 1960's.
He was employed by Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln from 1963 to 1987 and by St. John's Hospital in Springfield from 1987-2001.
He loved to hunt and range shoot. Harold was an avid Bridge player. He was always there to watch all of his grandchildren's sporting events and to "shoot the breeze" with his family and friends.

Sorry to hear of Kieth's passing. I knew him from the north end of Springfield in the 50's and from Lanphier being a 58 grad too.

I am so sorry to hear of Harold's passing. Have not seen him in years, but remember him as a high school friend and the times we ran into each other over the years. Please accept my prayer for him and the family at this time.
