Herbert L. Lee
ILLIOPOLIS - Herbert L. Lee, 92 of Illiopolis passed away on Friday, April 20, 2012 at the Vonderlieth Living Center at Mt. Pulaski.
He was born on November 30, 1919 in Elkhart, the son of Walter and Anna Willard Lee. Herb married Olive Ann Cook on December 26, 1953 and she preceded him in death in 2000. He served his country in the U.S. Army during W.W. II and was a member of the American Legion Post for over sixty-five years. He was a member of the Resurrection Parish and K of C Council in Riverton. Herbert farmed part of his life and worked at DeKalb Poultry before his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his brother Kenneth Lee. Survived by his daughter Marilyn Lemire (Jerry) of Westmont, three sons David Lee (Teresa) and Paul Lee (Jill) all of Illiopolis and Jim Lee of Fayetteville, GA., grandchildren Josh Lee (Shelley), Michael Lee and Anna Lee all of Illiopolis, Step grandson Bob
Lemire (Angie) of Denver, Colorado, great granddaughter Olivia Lee, Step great granddaughters Ellery and Marin, his sister Alberta Simpson (Bryan) of Decatur.
Visitation will be on Monday, April 23rd from 5:00-7:00 P.M. with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at the Fullenwider-Park Funeral Home in Illiopolis. The funeral mass will be on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at Resurrection Parish in Illiopolis. Reverend Joe Ring will be officiating with burial in Calvary Cemetery at Illiopolis. To all the Lees; your parents, Herb and Olive, were two of the most wonderful people I have known in my life. They were a VERY special couple! They kept the school moving with their kindness and were always there when any of us needed something. Olive and I shared a birthday. Our sympathies are with all of you.
