Homer E. "Brad" Bradley
SPRINGFIELD, IL - Homer E. "Brad" Bradley, 81, died at 4:32 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 2, 2013, at Lewis Memorial Christian Village.
He was born June 26, 1932, in Springfield to Herschel and Velma Edwards Bradley. He married Jeanne Carter and she preceded him in death in 1984.
Survivors include five sons: Kent (Paula) Bradley of Springfield, Kyle (Pam) Bradley of Williamsville, Kelly Bradley of Springfield, Korey (Melissa) Bradley of Chatham and Kenyon (Sharolyn) Bradley of Pawnee; fourteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four sisters: Barbara Brookshire of Fayetteville, N.C., Linda Wolfe and Luann Mefford both of Belleville, Ill., and Nancy (Lee) Burden of California; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one daughter, Kim Vendl; companion, Marge Miller; and one brother, Herschel Bradley.
Brad was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean Era. He was a retired member of Teamsters Local 916 and was a member of American Legion and Eagles Club.
Visitation: 4-7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013, at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 9 a.m., Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, at Staab Funeral Home with Rev. Al Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where Sangamon County Inter-Veterans Burial Detail will conduct military honors.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or conduct a random act of kindness.
