PETERSBURG - Janet Marie Bliefnick, 53, of Petersburg, passed away on Sunday, July 15, 2012 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born on November 8, 1958 in Springfield, the daughter of Gerald and Frances Pierce Zeigler. She married Gary Bliefnick on July 11, 2000 in Niagara Falls and he survives. She is also survived by her son Michael (wife Staci) Curtis of Divernon, her step-son Jay Bliefnick of Chicago, two sisters: Kathy (husband Dale) Royer of Horn Lake, Mississippi, and Mary Jane Menely of Springfield, one brother Jim (wife Karen) Zeigler of Springfield, three grandchildren: Casey, Zach, and Travis, three nephews: Jeff, Matthew, and Daniel, and two nieces: Brooke and Kara. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Janet was a graduate of St. John's School of Nursing in Springfield. Upon graduating Janet worked at St. John's Hospital for 34 years as a registered nurse. She loved her dogs Nelson and Shelby, and she loved to go fishing at her home in Petersburg. Janet was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church.

The family will meet friends from 3-7 pm on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Bisch Funeral Home West, 2931 Koke Mill Rd., and also from 9:00 am until the time of mass at Blessed Sacrament on Thursday. A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday July 19, 2012 at Blessed Sacrament Church with Fr. Jeff Grant officiating and an inurnment will follow at Chatham Cemetery.
