Jerome Marshall Moore
Jerome Marshall Moore, 86, lifelong resident of Springfield, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2013, at St. John's Hospital, with his loving family at his side.
Jerome was born on November 8, 1926, in Springfield, the son of James and Beatrice (Connolly) Moore. Jerome married Waneta Alwerdt on June 1, 1962. They celebrated 51 years of marriage together; she survives.
Also surviving him are his son Roger (Angie) Moore, a daughter Taylor Moore, 2 granddaughters Jennifer Moore, and Daniela Moore, 6 great-grandchildren, 4 step children Diana Fugnitti, Cathy Hubbs, Gary Hubbs, Patti Brackett, his 2 brothers Bernard (Ann) Moore, Patrick (Jean) Moore, 3 sisters Sherry (Richard) Wieland, Marcelline (Eddie) Nagel, and twin sister Jo Ann.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister, and 3 brothers.
Jerome proudly served our country in the United States Navy. He was an avid and passionate fisherman, his daily fishing started as early as possible and went on until as late as possible.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bisch & Son Funeral Home, 505 E Allen St, Springfield, IL 62703, where there will be a funeral service on Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at 10 a.m. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday. Burial will follow the service at Camp Butler National Cemetery where military honors will be performed by The Sangamon County Interveterans Burial Detail.
