John Anthony Kasper
RIVERTON - Services for John Anthony Kasper are being held at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home in Springfield, Illinois. Visitation on Friday, March 25 5-7 pm with funeral service on Saturday, March 26, at 1 pm.
John was born in Riverton, Ill on July 5, 1934, to Theresa and Thomas Kasper Sr. and passed away on March 18, 2011 after a brave battle with cancer.
John was a graduate of Riverton High School in 1953. He was successful not only professionally, but in family, service to community and in many lifelong friendships. His passions included aviation, hunting, gardening, history and sports. He has also volunteered in civil and children's activities throughout his life. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather with big hugs and many animated stories to make us laugh. We will miss John dearly.
John is preceded in death by his Mother and Father and by his son Steven Kasper. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Juanita Kasper, and his children: Kathy Kasper, David Kasper, Karen Ivey, Karla Games and Kristina Cox. John has 6 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Thomas Kasper and George Kasper.
