AUBURN - Laura Louise Moore of Auburn, died Monday, May 21, 2012 at Auburn Nursing and Rehab at the age of 85.
She was born March 2, 1927 in Glenarm, the daughter of Paul and Gladys Hurley. She was preceded in death by both her parents and three brothers, Dean Hurley, Melvin Hurley and Paul Hurley.
Ms. Moore lived most of her adult life in Springfield, Illinois, residing later in Palm Harbor, Florida and Springfield, Missouri. She was formerly employed at Barkers Department Store and Horace Mann and spent many years volunteering as an aid to the blind, as a tutor for the adult literacy program and volunteered at the Dana-Thomas House. She was a member of Homemakers Extension and West Side Christian Church.
She is survived by her brother, Neil (Betty Jo) Hurley of Auburn; sister-in-law Freeda Hurley of Springfield; sister-in-law Agnes Atchison of Auburn; Nephews Melvin (Linda) Hurley of Northwood, Ohio, Charles E. Hurley of Virden, Charles H. (Carol) Hurley of Stella Missouri; Nieces Neila (Don) Cornelius of West Salem, Illinois and Kaye (Brian) Rector of Auburn; Multiple great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, May 25, 2012, from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11a.m. at Bramley Funeral Home in Auburn with Pastor Travis Hurley (great-nephew) and Pastor David VanBebber officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Sugar Creek, Glenarm.
