SPRINGFIELD - Lucille E. (Lou) Gehrs, 96, of Springfield, died July 1, 2012 at Heritage Manor.
She was born August 22, 1915 in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of Eugene and Rose Miller.
Mrs. Gehrs retired from the Illinois Department of Revenue. She was a member of United Wesley Methodist Church, American Legion Auxillary Post #32, 8+40 Salon 225, AARP, Bunco Club and Homestead Card Club.
Lou was preceded in death by her great-grandson, Christopher Molash.
She is survived by her daughter, Gail Ann (husband, Larry) Kelly of Springfield; two granddaughters, Sherry Kelly of Springfield and Michelle (husband, Chris) Molash of Spaulding; two grandsons, Greg (wife, Stephanie) Kelly of Springfield, and Mike (wife, Deb) Kelly of Glenarm; eight great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; four step-daughters, Carla McKinnon of Texas, Bonnie (husband, Dale) Mulvaney of Edinburg, Penny (husband, Steve) Yonker of Alaska, and Billie Robinette of Waggoner; stepson, Todd (wife, Marsha) Gehrs of Pawnee; twelve step-grandchildren, twenty-two step-great-grandchildren; two step-great-great-grandchildren; her family at Villa West; and best friend, Marge Appenzeller.
Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
Memorial Gathering: Family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on Friday, July 6, 2012 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield.
Memorial Ceremony: 12:30 p.m. on Friday, July 6, 2012 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Chaplain John E. Nelson officiating. Private burial will be at Horse Creek Cemetery in Pawnee.
