Marguerite "Maggie" Bushkill
SPRINGFIELD - Marguerite "Maggie" Bushkill, 87, of Springfield, passed away on Sunday, July 15, 2012 at Memorial Medical Center.
Marguerite was born on January 7, 1925 in Springfield, IL, the daughter of Henry Berry Rapps and Hannorah "Honora" Catherine Denny. She married Arthur Bushkill. Marguerite was a devoted and loving mother and friend. She worked at Little Flower Grade School and at the Illinois Department of Transportation Traffic Safety for 32 years retiring in 2002. She loved traveling and was a die-hard Cubs fan. She attended Sacred Heart Grade School and graduated from Ursuline Academy. She was a member of the Church of the Little Flower, KC Council #4179 Ladies Auxilary and Catholic Daughters of America. She volunteered at the Holy Family Food Pantry and Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library & Museum.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Deborah Bushkill and seven brothers and sisters Mary (Rolland) Forbes, John (Eileen) Rapps, Robert (Oma) Rapps, Richard (Evelyn) Rapps, Henry (Alberta) Rapps, George (Betty) Rapps and Walter (Susan) Rapps.
She is survived by her sister, Honora (John) Forgas and brother, Thomas (Bettie) Rapps; five children, Marilyn (Bill) Franklin, Linda Hughes, Diane Gray, Richard (Rita) Bushkill and Joseph (Carol) Bushkill; nine grandchildren, Sandra (Chris) Steil, Brian (Jenny) Franklin, Christie (Armando) Marquez, Shelah (Chad) Wanless, Jeffery (Jackie) Hughes, David and Catlin Wright and Lauren and Claire Bushkill; thirteen great-grandchildren, Christopher and Brooke Steil, Caleigh and Brandon Franklin, Bryson, Dailynn and Aleczander Hughes, Adina Viele, Chad Joe and Jaden Wanless, Deanna and Mateo Marquez and Cash Wright and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial Gathering: 4-7 p.m. Thursday, July 19, 2012 at Staab Funeral Home with a prayer service at 4 p.m.
Lie-in-State: 9-10 a.m. Friday, July 20, 2012 at Church of the Little Flower
Memorial Mass: 10 a.m. Friday, July 20, 2012 at Church of the Little Flower with Reverend Robert Porter and Monsignor John Ossola concelebrating.
Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
