Mary was born Jan. 22, 1919, in Peoria. She was the youngest of five children of John and Theresa Dempsey. On Nov. 16, 1940, Mary married Walt, the love of her life. They lived in their family home in Peoria for 42 years. Together they raised two children, Carol Clouser Noe (husband, Ralph) of Loami and Bob Eaton (wife, Jodi) of Golden, Colo.

She has always taken a real interest in being around people and people have always found her interesting to be around. Her philosophy of life was that we need to do a good deed each day. She lived it fully.
Mary and Walt moved to Sherman and lived at Villa Vianney for 24 years. They were married for 62 years when Walt died in 2003. Mary lived at both Bickford House and Concordia Village.
