Mary E. Long

MT. AUBURN - Mary E. Long, 87, of Mt. Auburn passed away at 4:00pm, Wednesday March 12, 2014 in her home. She was born on February 10, 1927 in May Township, the daughter of Alvin and Mattie Runyon Gesell. On January 9, 1946 she married Victor E Long in Southfork Township. She graduated from the Kincaid High School in 1944 where she was Homecoming Queen. Aside from being a homemaker, Mrs. Long ran the family farm with her husband and also owned Long's Sunshine Center & Dairy Bar in Mt. Auburn. She was a member of the Mt. Auburn United Methodist Church. She was active in and served as an officer of many local organizations.

Mrs. Long is survived by her sons: Jerry Long, wife Jane Ann, of Middleburg KY, and Tommie Long, wife Kathy, of Patoka; daughter: Anne Horne, husband Robert, of Blue Mound; 7 Grandchildren and 16 Great Grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her Parents, husband, and sister: Leonore Noren.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00am on Monday, March 17, 2014 in the Mt. Auburn United Methodist Church With Rev. George Heineman and Rev. Bob Cook officiating. Visitation will be held from 3 until 6pm on Sunday at McClure Funeral Home in Taylorville. Burial will be in the Mt. Auburn Cemetery.

Memorials may be left to the Mt. Auburn United Methodist Church, Memorial Home Hospice, or the .

McClure Funeral Home in Taylorville is in charge of arrangements.
