Maxine Ann (Minder) Landrey
FARMERSVILLE, IL - Maxine Ann (Minder) Landrey, 84, of Farmersville, took the Lord's hand on Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014, at Memorial Hospital in Springfield, Ill.
She was born Nov. 25, 1930, in Williamsville, Ill., the daughter of Walter and Norma (Claypool) Minder. She married Melvin "Merle" Landrey on Oct. 6, 1948, in Cairo, Ill. They were faithfully married for 60 years. Merle preceded her in death on Sept. 22, 2008.
Mrs. Landrey was a farmer's wife and homemaker. She served as Past President of the Methodist Lady's Bible Study Group and as an officer/member of the Montgomery County Home Extension. She was also a member of the Montgomery County Farm Bureau and Pork Producers. She was a graduate of Pawnee High School.
Maxine was a loving mother and her grandchildren's best friend. She was a living example of love to those around her and she did not have to think twice when it came to sacrifice for her family. She also loved flowers and hated weeds!
Surviving are her five children: Charlotte (Terry) House of Pawnee, Sharon (late husband, Maury) Hough of Nokomis, Harold Landrey of Farmersville, Carolyn Landrey of Pawnee and Karen "Dee" (Greg) Nimmo of Farmersville; nine grandchildren: Wyatt and Miles House, Shana and Travis (Amy) Hough, Jessica Hough-Jahn (Brian), Kody, Kooper (Abby Owens), Kolby and Konner Nimmo; four great-grandchildren: Ava, Noah, Olivia and Ryan; sister, Yvonne "Toots" Gregurich of Rochester; brother, Walter Laverne (Marilyn) Minder of Pawnee; sister-in-law, Dorothy Landrey; brother-in-law, Alvin (Jean) Landrey; and many nieces nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Monday, Dec. 1, 2014, at the Pawnee Christian Church. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the church with the Rev. Aaron Griffith officiating. Burial will be at Horse Creek Cemetery in Pawnee.
