Mildred M. Flynn
EAST PEORIA – Mildred M. Flynn, 90, of East Peoria, IL, formerly of Havana, IL, passed away, at 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 22, 2013, at her residence. She was born on May 17, 1922, to Edward and Veronica Yeck Tonn in Jacksonville, IL. She married Paul J. Flynn on November 22, 1943, in Jacksonville. He preceded her in death on March 5, 2005.
Among survivors are a daughter, Veronica Flynn (Robert) Meiers-Morris-ette of Ft. Myers, FL; and 3 sons: Paul (Joanne) Flynn of East Peoria, Timothy (Diana) Flynn of Morton, and Michael (Kelly) Flynn of Washington; 7 grandchildren: Jeff and Chip Meiers of Ft. Myers, Jennifer Flynn Duffey and Brian Flynn of St Louis, MO, Christina and Nicole Flynn of Morton, and Joseph Flynn of Havana; and 6 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Charles and Earl Tonn of Jacksonville, IL.
Mildred was a homemaker and very active in the Alter and Rosary Society of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Havana. She volunteered at Mason District Hospital and the Mason County Home Bureau.
Funeral Mass will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 437 S. Orange Street in Havana, IL. Fr. John Horton will officiate with interment to follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana. Visitation will take place from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, March 25, 2013, at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in East Peoria and on Tuesday at St. Patrick's Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
Memorials may be made to St. Patrick's Church in Havana, St. Monica's Church in East Peoria, Circle of Life Home Care or Harbor Lights Hospice.
