Netsi (Jacob) Herrman
SPRINGFIELD - Netsi (Jacob) Herrman, 72, of Springfield passed away Monday, March 11, 2013, at St. John's Hospice.
She was born Dec. 6, 1940, in Springfield, the daughter of Arthur O. and Jeanette (Carter) Jacob. Her parents preceded her in death.
Netsi attended Trinity Lutheran School as a child. After graduating from Glenwood High School, she went on to receive a bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She worked as an internal auditor for the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation for many years. She also co-owned a vending machine business for several years.
She was a member of Alpha Phi, the University of Illinois Alumni Association, and Trinity Lutheran Church.
Netsi loved her late dog, Moppet; was a die-hard University of Illinois fan and die-hard Cubs fan; was an admirer of Ronald Reagan; and enjoyed working puzzles, watching HGTV and old movies and visiting the Dana-Thomas House.
She is survived by her sister, Patricia (Fred) Long of Kensington, MD; two nieces, Kathryn (Shannon O'Neil) Long of Brooklyn, NY, and Karen (Ryan) Long Rayburn of North Bethesda, MD; a close friend, Mary Ann (Walt) Schadow of Springfield; and several cousins, other family members and friends.
Services will be held Friday, March 15, 2013, at Boardman-Smith Funeral Chapel where friends may call from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
