SPRINGFIELD - Neva Elizabeth Embree, 84, of Springfield, went to meet her heavenly father on Friday, April 5, 2013, in Ft. Walton Beach, FL.
Neva was born December 11, 1928, in Enfield, the daughter of Charles and Autha Downen Weasel. Neva married Parley R. Embree on February 24, 1949, in Decatur; he preceded her in death in 1992.
Neva retired from the Secretary of State's office in 1991. She was a member of the Calvary Temple Christian Center.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Ruby Carlton and Valeda Clevenger; and one brother, Hobart Weasel.
She is survived by one son, Dennis Embree of Springfield; two daughters, Sheila (husband, Stan) Vacek of Springfield and Jan (husband, Gary) Spencer of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Mabel (husband, Lowes) Browning of Carmi; and one brother, Kenneth (wife, Louise) Weasel of Grayville.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 11, 2013, at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield.
Funeral Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 12, 2013, at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, with Rev. Lowes Browning officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
