Randall "Randy" Ray Dicken
CHATHAM - Randall "Randy" Ray Dicken, 52, of Chatham, IL, passed away Friday, June 15, 2012, following an auto accident near Nashville, TN. Born June 18, 1959, in Waterloo, IA, he was the son of Bobbie Lee and Alta Rose Leistikow Dicken. Randy married Gayla Sue Ellis on August 18, 1979. He was preceded in death by his father.
Randy is survived by his wife, Gayla; son Chris (girlfriend Carol Phillips) Dicken of Springfield; daughter Rhiannon (John) Sanders of Chatham; mother Alta Dicken of Daytona Beach, FL; grandchildren Alexis, Vincent and Nicholas Sanders; brother Curt (Bobbie) Dicken of Waterloo, IA; sister-in-law Ellyn Ellis of Springfield; two aunts, and several nieces and nephews.
Randy graduated from the Business Institute of Technology in Waterloo, IA. He started in food service management as a manager for Wendy's and then went on to Cracker Barrel. A Chatham resident for the past 16 years, Randy was the Associate Manager of the Cracker Barrel in Springfield. He was an avid Oakland Raiders' fan who planned a trip in September for opening day. Randy loved his music, especially rock 'n roll and country. All knew him as a super nice boss who took care of his employees and customers as if they were his family. Randy was a tissue donor and continued giving to others, even with his passing.
Visitation: Sunday, June 24, at Staab Polk Memorial Home, 8855 State Route 4, Chatham, from 1PM until the time of services at 3PM, with Rev. Sara Isbell officiating. Burial follows at Chatham Memorial Cemetery.
