Rosemary GROBELNIK Obituary

Rosemary "Rosie" Grobelnik

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA - Rosemary "Rosie" Grobelnik, died Monday, July 1, 2013, at her home in Lawrenceville, Georgia.

Born in 1938 in Springfield, Ill., to George W. and Celeste E. (Tarmelli) Miller. She is survived by her four children, Ms. Jody Grobelnik, Springfield, Ill., Ms. Jamie Grobelnik, Lawrenceville, Ga., Mr. Joseph "Joe" Grobelnik, Springfield, Ill., and Mrs. Julie (husband, Kent) Leka, Lawrenceville, Ga.; two brothers, Mr. George (wife, Mary) Miller, Cumming, Ga., and Mr. Robert Miller, Tuscon, Ariz., four cherished grandchildren, Katelyn "Katie", Emily, Ryan, and Evan "BoBo" Leka; and three nephews, Christopher (wife, Pam, and daughter, Madison) Miller, Shannon (wife, Julie, daughter, Alyssa, and son, Ethan) Miller, and Dylan Martin; and niece, Eve (husband David, daughter Ava, and sons, Jackson and Hayden) (Miller) Smith; and many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Mark A. Miller, and her long time companion, Mr. Michael J. Dunham.

She loved all kinds of music and could be found listening to local bands including "Cats on Holiday" and various jazz ensembles led by Michael Dunham. She was an avid reader who could remember the author, story details, and title of every book but had to go through the list of all four children's names when addressing one of them. She was the favorite mom of her children's friends wherever she lived due to her love and interest in young people.

Rosie was a military wife for almost 30 years, volunteering at each new assignment while raising her children. Upon retirement, she held several positions including activities director at Brother James Court (BJC), a resident intermediate care facility serving developmentally disabled men–all who she adored.

Her cremated remains will be entrusted to Calvary Cemetery in Springfield, IL, following a private gravesite service for immediate family members. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Brother James Court, 2508 St. James Road, Springfield, IL 62707-9736 or .

She will be deeply missed but has gone from our loving arms to God's loving arms. She would want to thank all of her family, friends, and those who knew her only through the stories and words of others for the prayers, positive energy and support during her life, illness, and passing.
