Samuel G. Giganti
DAVENPORT, IA - Samuel G. Giganti, 59, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2014, at the University of Iowa Hospital, surrounded by his family.
Mass will be celebrated at 4 p.m. on Monday, April 7, 2014, at St. Paul The Apostle Catholic Church, 916 E. Rusholme St., Davenport. Following the Mass, a reception will be held in Denning Hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the University of Iowa Lung Transplant Program.
Sam was born in 1954 in Springfield, Ill., the son of Sam and Genevieve Giganti. He was united in marriage to Debra Brown on Sept. 6, 1980. He was a Project Manager for the City of Davenport, Public Works Department/Engineer-ing. Sam was a member of St. Paul The Apostle Church, Knights of Columbus, and the Q.C. Italian American Society. He enjoyed carpentry, coaching, and especially the time he spent cooking with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Debra; daughter, Andrea (Colin) Brooklier of Chicago; sons, Timothy Giganti of New York, N.Y., and Chad Giganti of Memphis, Tenn.; daughter, Ashley Giganti of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; sister, Pat Giganti of Springfield, Ill.; brother, Frank (Karen) Giganti of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.
Sam was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Sara Elizabeth; and sister, Sandra Giganti.
