SPRINGFIELD, IL - Timothy M. Warren, 49, died Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013.
He was born April 23, 1964, in Springfield.
Tim was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Tim's loving and generous spirit will live on through his wife, Catherine Warren of Springfield; daughter, Lacey (fiancé, Sean McCormick) Warren of Chatham; granddaughter, Leah Warren; parents, James and Kathleen "K" Warren of Springfield; sisters, Dana Wood and Stacy (Doug) Bangert of Springfield; brother, Todd (Dianne) Warren of Bloomsburg, Penn.; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Tim was a member of Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and the Knights of Columbus Council 364.
He spent many years enjoying his passion of professional boat racing nationwide, including a national championship in Bakersfield, Calif., in 1982. Tim was also an enthusiastic ice hockey player in his youth, developing lifelong friendships along the way. His love of cars and aviation carried over to a lifelong career in automotive refinishing sales, a majority of his years spent working at Discount Auto Paint and Supply, the Warren family business. He enjoyed giving to his community and was always a Good Samaritan to anyone in need.
Tim's greatest joy and proudest moments came recently with becoming a grandfather to Leah and watching her grow.
Visitation: 3-6 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013, at Staab Funeral Home with a prayer service at 3 p.m.
Funeral Mass: 10 a.m., Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception with Rev. Philip Kraft and Rev. Zachary Edgar officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Pawnee.
