William "Billy" Waldmire, Jr.

William (Billy) Waldmire Jr., 50, of Rochester died Friday morning, December 31st at

St. Johns hospital after a long battle with bone cancer. The son of Bill and Arlene

(McClanahan) Waldmire, He was born May 7, 1960 in Springfield.

He was an entertainer and singer with his band the "Mother Road Rockers". He also

did plumbing, heating and air conditioning, electrical and carpentry.

With discomfort in his bones and pain in his back he would grab his toolbag and rush

to family, friend or anyone in ajam to fix a pipe, charge a unit, replace a breaker, or just

lay a row of shingles and be done in time to sing a three hour gig and next morning create

a waterslide for his granddaughters birthday party.

He was a drummer with the Falcons and Statesmen Drum and Bugle Corps.

Graduated from Rochester H.S. in 1978 and is survived by his daughter Diana Waldmire,

spouse Brenda and stepdaughters Ashley,and Lacey Brown and Lauren (Rickk) Appelt

and Granddaughter Piper (Appelt). Sister Bonnie (Carl) Miller, Brother Dow (Theresa)

Waldmire, Nephews Adam (Holly) Joslyn, Alex and Chris Haire, Daniel Kuntzman,

great nephew, James Joslyn, his parents Bill and Arlene of Rochester and many aunts,

uncles, cousins, friends and fans, and loved by all.

In lieu of Flowers a contribution could be made to the Billy Waldmire cancer fund at

the Rochester State Bank.

A celebration of his life will be held Wednesday, Jan 5 at Wilson Park Funeral Home

in Rochester from 4 to 7 p.m.
