Pearl Marie Clemons
SPRINGFIELD, IL - Pearl Marie Clemons, 77, died on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, at Bridge Care Suites.
Pearl was born on Aug. 4, 1936, in Petersburg, the daughter of George W. and Isabel Hamlin McWhorter. She married Walter Clemons on May 1, 1954; he preceded her in death in 1985. Louie Gochanour had been her companion for several years; he preceded her in death in 2012.
Pearl worked for Franklin Life Insurance Company and later for the State of Illinois in the Vocational Rehabilitation Department. She also owned and operated Clemons Lawn Care. She was a member of Real Life Church and a member of Forget-Me-Nots. She enjoyed bowling and loved crafts.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Laura Ragan; four grandchildren; and twelve brothers and sisters.
She is survived by three sons, Keith (Vinnie) Clemons, of New Jersey, Stephen (Aileen) Clemons, of Kentucky, and Russell Clemons, of Springfield; two daughters, Richele (Chuck) Partridge, of Springfield, and Patricia (Jerry) Campbell, of Nilwood; one sister, Mabel Hamm of Springfield; fourteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 14, 2014, at Ellinger-Kunz & Park Funeral Home with Reverend Clint Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Real Life Church or the Wounded Warrior Project.
