Charles W. McGrath
SPRINGFIELD, IL - Charles W. McGrath died Sunday, March 2, 2014, at St. John's Hospice.
Charles was born Aug. 21, 1926, in Murrayville, the son of James and Ellen McQuire McGrath. He married Rosina N. Cervellone on Sept. 28, 1957, at St. Joseph Church in Springfield.
Charles proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and has been a member for 60 years of Local 137 Plumbers and Steamfitters Union. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; twin sisters, Regina and Sr. Rita McGrath; and three brothers: George, Paul and Richard.
He is survived by his wife, Rosina McGrath of Springfield; son, John McGrath of Texas; two daughters, Joan (husband, Dr. Jeffery) Suzewits of Missouri and Catherine McGrath of Chicago; grandchildren, Katherine and Andrew Suzewits of Missouri; two sisters, Mary McGrath of Springfield and Helen Fabro of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 11:00-11:45 a.m., Thursday, March 6, 2014, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 1725 S. Walnut, Springfield.
Funeral Mass: Noon, Thursday, March 6, 2014, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, the Rev. Jeff Grant, celebrant.
Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
