Wayne "Doc" Brown
LOAMI, IL - Wayne "Doc" Brown, 79, of Loami, died at 11:58 p.m., Friday, March 28, 2014, at Pleasant Hill Nursing Home in Girard, Ill.
Wayne was born June 26, 1934, in Blytheville, Ark., the son of Harry and Myrtle Hopper Brown. He married Carolyn Huffman on June 12, 1954, at Third Presbyterian Church in Springfield, Ill.
Wayne was employed as a cement finisher for several companies and had been self-employed as well. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, and vegetable gardening.
He was preceded in death by his parents and all of his siblings.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn L. Brown of Loami; three daughters: Debbie (husband, Tom) Turley of Loami, Rhonda (husband, Mark) Jones and Deanna (husband, Mike) Jones, both of Pensacola, Fla.; seven grandchildren: Tom Turley, Tim Turley, Lindsay Hootman, Steve Jones, Amrielle Jones, Michael Jones and Mitchell Jones; six great-grandchildren, with one on the way; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
Private family ceremonies were held.
