James Weiss, II

CARLINVILLE - James Allen "Jim" Weiss, II, 47, passed away at 9:19 p.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2014, at the University of Chicago Medicine in Chicago.

Born July 1, 1966, in Peoria to James Allen and Judy C. (Wallace) Weiss, he married Michelle Renee (Wilson) Razo on Aug. 6, 2011, in Springfield.

Surviving are his wife of Carlinville; his mother, Judy Rosenberg of Morton; two daughters, Ashley Weiss of Auburn and Allaina Leischner of Divernon; one sister, Julie (Mat) Bainbridge of East Peoria; one half-brother, Scott (Amanda) Weiss of Washington; two stepsons, Ryan (Nikki) Razo of Sherman and Michael (Nikita) Razo of Linden, N.C.; and stepfather, Daryl Rosenberg of Washington.

His father preceded him in death.

He was a 1985 graduate of East Peoria Community High School in East Peoria.

Jim worked at Burger King in Jacksonville for 7 years as the general manager. Previously, he worked at Hardee's in Springfield for 17 years in management.

He was involved in BMX over the years serving in many leadership roles including State Commissioner. He was of the Methodist faith.

Jim enjoyed golfing, poker, and fishing. He was a fan of NASCAR, the St. Louis Cardinals, and the Dallas Cowboys.

His funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at Sherman United Methodist Church, 2336 E. Andrew Rd., Sherman, IL, the Rev. Craig Sweet officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday and also from 10-10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, both at the church. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Springfield.
