LeRoy E. Huff
PETERSBURG, IL - LeRoy E. Huff, 66, died May 21, 2014, at Memorial Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 6, 1948, the son of Arlett E. and Luella Wiles Huff. He married Cerilla Sue Brashear on March 26, 1964, in Knoxville, Ill.
Lee is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sue; son, Bradley E. Huff of Athens; daughter, Holley L. (Mark) Krall of Rockford; granddaughter, Alexandria L. Krall; brother, John C. (Jean) Huff of Galesburg; sister, Julia A. (Russell Jr.) Carlson of Kirkwood; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Lee was a member of Petersburg United Methodist Church, the Vintage Ag Tractor Club and Clinton Lodge #19 AF&AM. He graduated from Western Illinois University in 1970 and then taught auto mechanics and industrial arts at PORTA High School from 1970 - 2007. He also drove a school bus for 43½ years. During the summer Lee built houses with fellow teachers, Dave Tanner and Bill Gastorf. Lee loved restoring cars and tractors and selling Schaeffer Oil to farmers and friends for over 36 years; he also ran the Petersburg Car Wash for the last 20 years.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 24, 2014, at Petersburg United Methodist Church. Visitation will run from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Knoxville City Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.
