Veronica Rose Ringer

BERLIN, IL - Veronica Rose Ringer, 78, died at 10:12 a.m. on Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at her home.

Veronica was born Nov. 28, 1935, in Jacksonville, the daughter of Roy and Hazel Johnson. She married Carl Ringer on Nov. 11, 1954, in Springfield after chasing the minister down to the railroad station for his signature.

Veronica was a graduate of Springfield High School and Art School in Jacksonville. She worked at B&Z Bakery as a chocolatier and was an assistant to the superintendent of the arts and flower department for the Sangamon County Fair for eight years. Veronica was also a member of the Women's Club of New Berlin. Veronica enjoyed roller skating, square dancing, painting, and planting flowers. She was a homemaker for most of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband, Carl Ringer of Berlin and son, Douglas (wife, Victoria) Ringer of Springfield.

Private family ceremonies will be held.
