Mary Eloise Schinneer

FARRAGUT, TN - Mary Eloise "Muff" Schinneer, 95, formerly of Springfield, Ill., died June 3, 2014.

She was born March 3, 1919, in Springfield, the daughter of Clarence A. and Mary Elizabeth Barbre. She married Robert S. Schinneer at Blessed Sacrament Church on Dec. 19, 1944.

She was preceded in death by Robert; a brother, Ralph Barbre; sisters, Ruth McVary and Helen Smarjesse; and sons, Philip and Christopher.

Mrs. Schinneer was a graduate of Pawnee High School and Springfield College in Illinois. She was a member of Little Flower Church, St. Therese Guild, and the Catholic Daughters of America.

Survivors include: one son, David (Karen) Schinneer of Springfield; four daughters: Michele (Robert) Smith of Tenants Harbor, Maine, Stephanie (James) Hanely of Taylorville, Patrice (Daniel) Olson of Farragut, Tenn., and Elise (Richard) Miksch of Frisco, Texas; daughter-in-law, Sandra Schinneer of Springfield; 12 grandchildren: Christopher Smith, Dr. Carrie Sopata, Jessica and Rachael Hanely, Colleen Schinneer-Milne, Lauren Schinneer, Peter and Margaret Olson, and Abigail, Robert, Claire, and Elaine Miksch; two great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation and Funeral Mass: Family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 16, 2014, at the Church of the Little Flower, 800 Stevenson Dr., Springfield with the Rev. Msgr. John Ossola, celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to: Little Flower School or the St. Therese Guild, 800 Stevenson Dr., Springfield, IL 62703.
