Mary Louise Tate
SPRINGFIELD, IL - Mary Louise Tate, 80, passed away on Monday, June 16, 2014, at Memorial Medical Center. She was born on Jan. 7, 1934, in Springfield to Carl and Paula Hollerbach Bechtold. She married James Edward Tate on Aug. 5, 1955, in Springfield and he survives.
Mrs. Tate is also survived by four children, Carol (Stephen) Tankersley of Alexander, David (Bonnie) Tate of Arlington Heights, VA, Linda (Ed) Tate-West of El Paso, IL, and Paul (Suzy) Tate of Tampa, FL, four grandchildren, Elena and Tate Tankersley, and Sarah and Erica Tate, one great-grandchild, Jason Jordan, and two sisters, Agnes Toombs of Kansas and Rita (Bob) Hansen of Springfield.
Mary was a homemaker who took great pride in raising her four children. Outside of her responsibilities at home Mary worked at Lincoln Land Community College in the Literacy Department for ten years. She enjoyed playing golf and bridge, doing word puzzles, working in her garden and watching birds at her residence.
A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at Bisch Funeral Home West, 2931 Koke Mill Road, with burial to follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery. Please visit the online "Life Remembered Story" at www.bischfuneralhomewest.com
