Mildred KEPPLER Obituary

Mildred Bell

SPRINGFIELD, IL - Mildred Bell Keppler, 97, died at 5:06 a.m. on Friday, July 11, 2014, at Memorial Medical Center. She was born on Oct. 13, 1916, in Springfield to Roy C. and Jessie Ada Bell Ashton. She married Frank C. Keppler on Feb. 20, 1937, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 12, 1984. She is also preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Melvin Ashton, and a nephew, Jerry Berry.

Mildred is survived by her two daughters, Donna (Michael) Neuner of Lawrence, Kan., and Betty (Phil) Matson of Dayton, Ohio; two grandchildren, Kelly (Brian) Poplin of Springboro, Ohio, and Kathy (Roy) Mangrum of Nashville, Tenn.; two great-grandchildren, Isaac and Evan Poplin; two nieces, Sharon (Albert) Darran of Springfield and Mary Lou Berry of Success, Ark., and many treasured friends.

She was a member of Third Presbyterian Church and the Christian Women's Club. We will smile when we think of her Harley-Davidson rides she enjoyed from age 90-94. The family treasures our memories of our precious "Mama Millie" on a motorcycle…AKA "Grandma Rabbit". Not only did she enjoy laughing, friends, desserts and life, she was also a positive inspiration to all who knew her.

Visitation: 10-11 a.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2014, at Staab Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2014, at Staab Funeral Home with Kathy Fogal officiating. Burial will follow at Rochester Cemetery.

If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Illinois Presbyterian Home.
