LAKE STATION, IN - Ava Jean Miner-Antle, 84, formerly of Divernon, Ill., passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2014.
Ava was one of many children born to William and Janet Rhodes in 1930 and they both preceded her in death.
Ava was formerly employed at the Brady Funeral Home in Lake Station. She was a member of East Gary PTA, a big supporter of the March of Dimes, food pantry, Historical Society, American Legion, and the Fire and Police Departments of Lake Station. Ava was also a member of The First Christian Church of Lake Station.
Ava is survived by her husband, Oscar "Corky" Antle; four sons: Robert (Cindy) Miner, Russell Miner, Richard (Rose) Miner and Roger (Denise) Miner; five siblings: Betty Jo (Tom) Karhliker, Ronald and Kenneth Rhodes, Wilma "Billie" Bottoms and George "Allen" Rhodes; one sister-in-law, Yvonne Rhodes; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Bramley Funeral Home in Divernon, from 1 p.m. until time of memorial service at 2 p.m. with Pastor Brian Caughlan officiating. Burial will be at Brush Creek Cemetery in Divernon.
