Kathryn A. Wilson

SPRINGFIELD, IL - Kathryn A. Wilson, 91, of Springfield passed away July 24, 2014, at the home of her daughter.

She was born March 24, 1923, in Farmingdale, the daughter of William and Rose Combest Lucht. She married Benjamin Wilson, Jr. on July 17, 1943, and he preceded her in death on March 31, 2008.

She was also preceded in death by one granddaughter, Patricia Wilson, and one step-grandson, Gregg Johnsey.

Kathryn was employed by Allis-Chalmers, State of Illinois, School District 186 and retired from Montgomery Ward.

She was active in the Eastern Star, Pawnee United Methodist Youth Group, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.

Kathryn spent 19 years of retirement in Clearwater, Fla., before moving back to Springfield.

Surviving are one son, Nick (Marcia) Wilson of Clearwater, Fla.; two daughters, Rebecca (Steven) Jones and Cynthia (Donald) Martin, both of Springfield; nine grandchildren: Susan Marshall, Patrick Marshall, Sara Wilson, Shena (Matt) Bandy, Michael Jones, Andrew Jones, T.J. Martin (companion, Jennifer Pine), Alex (Casey) Martin, and Geoffrey Martin (companion, Krista DeRosa); one step-grandson, Christopher Johnsey; 10 great-grandchildren: Victoria Marshall, Adrianna Wilson, Maliah Martin, Geoffrey (Lindsey) Johnsey, Michael Johnsey, Taylor Johnsey, Carter Martin, Rylee Bandy, Kohen Fawns and Keaton Fawns.

Cremation rites were accorded.

Private family graveside services will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials to be made to: St. John's Hospice.
