Alice was born Feb. 11, 1930, in Canton. She was the daughter of Margaret and Robert White. Alice was the first of her family to be born in the USA. She married John C. Hills on June 10, 1949, in Canton. They were childhood sweethearts.
Surviving are her husband, John; four children: Margie (Bill) Burg of Decatur, Jan Smith of Springfield, Rob (Jill) Hills of Williamsville and Lori (Don) Wright of Springfield; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many special nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; four sisters; a brother; as well as a set of twins.
She worked at home to raise her family in Illiopolis. She was an excellent seamstress and loved to make clothes for her children. She enjoyed making many and miniature craft items and participated in craft shows. She loved to give her crafts away to her nurses that would take care of her throughout the years. She was always very loving and generous with her family and friends. We always said that Mom had never met a stranger. She will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
