Norma "Jean" Williams
VIRDEN, IL – Norma "Jean" Williams, 83, of Virden, passed away Thursday, July 31, 2014, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, Ill.
Jean was born Oct. 11, 1930, in Springfield, Ill., the daughter of Norman and Mildred (Williams) Drendel. She married Edward A. Williams on Nov. 28, 1948, in Springfield, Ill. Jean was a member of Thayer United Methodist Church in Thayer, Ill., and formerly worked as a bookkeeper and checker for the IGA grocery stores in Virden and Auburn, Ill. She later worked as a bookkeeper for Macoupin Services and after retiring she was an Avon representative for many years.
Surviving Jean are her special friend, Carl Renken of Auburn, Ill.; sons, Gary (Amy) Williams of Riverton, Ill., and Tony Williams of Auburn, Ill.; daughters, Sherry (Leonard) Miner of Rochester, Ill., Pat (Wayne) Ladage of Virden, Ill., Rose (Charles) McDonald of Glenarm, Ill., Roxy (Tim) Seifert of Auburn, Ill., and Jenny (Scott) Fenn of Henderson, Nev.; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Jean in death were her husband, Edward A. Williams, and sons, T.J. and David Williams.
Visitation for Jean will be from 9:30 a.m. to service time at 11:30 a.m., Monday, Aug. 4, 2014, at Thayer United Methodist Church in Thayer, Ill.; the Rev. Charles Kurfman officiating. Burial will be at Virden Cemetery.
