William Robert "Bob" Weakley
SPRINGFIELD, IL - William Robert "Bob" Weakley, 63, of Springfield, died at 5:23 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014, at Memorial Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 21, 1950, in Springfield, to Ora and Henrietta (Heineman) Weakley.
His parents, three brothers, Owen, Ron and Tom Weakley, and one sister, Rose Pierce, preceded him in death.
He married Linda Rychel on April 14, 1980.
Survivors include his wife, Linda of Springfield; one daughter, Dawn Miller of Arizona; two grandchildren; one brother, John (Marie) Weakley of Florida; several nieces and nephews; his canine buddy, Spanky; and all his friends at Patterson Bay.
He received an associate's degree from Columbia College in Missouri and worked for the U.S. government. Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps from 1969-1977, serving in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the NRA.
Memorial Gathering: 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2014, at Staab Funeral Home. Military honors will be conducted at 7 p.m.
A private graveside service will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery at a later date.
