Janet Lynn Glisson
SPRINGFIELD - Janet Lynn Glisson, 63, of Springfield, Illinois died at Memorial Medical Center on December 18, 2010.
She was born June 29, 1947 in Springfield to Eugene F. Baker and Betty J. Goodman Baker. She graduated from Springfield High School in 1965 and attended Springfield College in Illinois.
She married Gil Glisson on November 4, 2006, he preceded her in death. Formerly married to George W. Groesch and Robert E. Alexander. Also preceding her in death were her father, Eugene F. Baker, grandparents, Jesse and Bernice Goodman and Fred and Helen Baker.
She is survived by her son, John Groesch and her daughter, Jennifer (James) Robson; her mother, Betty Baker; her sister, Nancy (Kevin) Patton; nephews William Patton and Ryan Patton; niece Catherine Patton; five grandchildren, Chanse Heibner, Josephine and Tripp Robson, Jacob and Joshua Groesch; and great nieces, Abigail and Hannah Patton.
She was active in Family GNO, Lynn's Dinner Group, Class of '65 Dinner Group and the Optimissus Club. She was a member of Farmingdale Presbyterian Church and was President of the Board of Directors for the Illinois Presbyterian Home.
Family will receive friends from 5:00-6:45 p.m. on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. A funeral ceremony will follow at 7:00 p.m., with Rev. David Nicholson officiating.
Family and friends will meet at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home for a procession to Camp Butler National Cemetery for a graveside ceremony to be held at 10:00 a.m., with burial to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Illinois Presbyterian Home, 2005 W. Lawrence Ave., Springfield, IL 62704-1491; Farmingdale Presbyterian Church, 7971 Farmington Cemetery Rd., Pleasant Plains, IL 62677-3801; or Southwind Park, 2500 S. 11th St., Springfield, IL 62703.
