NEW BERLIN - Kurt Steven Dickerson, 31, of New Berlin, died at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, November 5, 2012 at Memorial Medical Center.

Kurt was born August 16, 1981 in Springfield, the son of Ronald and Becky Hohimer Dickerson.

He attended Athens, Pleasant Plains Schools, and Lincoln Land Community College. Kurt was a welder and free-lance tree trimmer. He was a movie buff and enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and music. He had a huge heart and gentle soul. Kurt loved animals and children. He was a very loyal friend who never knew a stranger, always taking in friends and animals. His faith was also very important him.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Pearl Dickerson, and Homer and Pauline Hohimer and a cousin, Steve Goleash.

He is survived by his parents, Ron and Becky Dickerson of New Berlin; two brothers, Jodie (wife, Amy, and their children, Chase and Hailey) Dickerson of Springfield and Brett (wife, Mandy, and their children Sequoia and Ira) Dickerson of Robinson; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center following ceremonies.

Visitation: Family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 9, 2012 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield.

The family will host a Celebration of Life from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at K of C Hall Local 3914, 335 S. 4th St., Riverton.
