Dear Sunny,
Memories abound at the mention of Carl's name ! My children, Todd & Sarah Beth, "grew up" at RRCC ! They both learned to swim in the pool there. They slept on cots in the Nurses office. Todd mowed and mowed to his heard's content, so happy to be a helper! He died on 11-12-13 in Houston,Texas. Camp days are an important part of Todd's life. Once when visiting with his wife, Rachel, we went down to Camp and he gave her the grand tour, he was so proud of that.
I'm so glad I met you in Riverton Church years ago. We Camp Nurses have to stick together.
God Bless you, Marilyn Day Fowler, Rockford, Illinois.

Sunny, we just found out about Carl's passing through the CCCA news. Carl was such a special part of the CCCA conventions, and was always a great help to me in getting me volunteers to do whatever I needed to have done.

I always felt that Carl and I had a connection, since he knew my dad (Dale Reger) who ministered for a number of year in Conifer. I know a little of your pain since my dad passed away in August.

Know that our prayers are with you and your family during this time of loss. Carl's sweet smile and servant's heart will be missed.

If there is anything that Deann and I can do from Texas, please let us know. We love you guys.

Praying for you and your family

God introduce me to Carl and the Dahlquist family at a very important time in my young life. His example helped influence my life's direction and I am a better man for having known him. What a gift to those of us that were blessed with being able to spend time with him.

Jeff & Angie and families...so many wonderful memories at Rock River Christian Camp. It's hard to imagine all the lives that were touched because of your parents obedience to the call of serving the Lord in Christian Camping. We are so grateful. Sorry that we were not able to be there to share in the celebration of Carl's life. I am sure it was quite the celebration. May God comfort you in the coming days. TJ & Ruth Mohr

Dear Jeff & Angela,
I am so sad to hear of your Dad's passing. Hard to believe !
I watched you kids grow up at RRCC...Oh what fun we had.
Sunny, I fondly remember meeting you at Riverton Church
for a Mother & Daughter Banquet. I was so pleased to know
Carl married "the Camp Nurse". Working from '60-'90 @ RRCC, I have such wonderful memories of Carl & Shirley & the kids.
May your memories help to comfort you in the days to come.
My sincere sympathy to all. Marilyn Day Fowler, R.N.

Sunny & family,
Carl was the one that got the Asbell family involved in camp ministry at Camp Como, Colorado. When I asked him how I could help, he asked me to be a trustee. My term expired after seven years, then my husband Steve came on as a trustee. My son Zane applied and worked at Camp Como last summer. We all are devoted to the camp and to this ministry because of Carl. Although we have only kept up with Christmas cards, you have always been special to our family. May God be with you all. We first met Carl when he started dating Shirley Kruse, our Christian Education Director at Central Church of Christ in Streator. We followed their romance until they got married in the summer of 1968 and their lives since even though we moved to Arizona shortly thereafter. Though it has been many years, we have fond memories of those times. We extend our love and sympathy to his children and Sunny. Dean and Pat Sloniger, Joliet, IL

Dear Sunny and all of Carl's family. We just learned of Carl's passing. Ed and Louise Furnas sent us a text message. How glad Ellen and I are that we could visit you at LSCA, that I could talk with Carl again as well as with you, Sunny. I had forgotten that I am one day older than Carl. How blessed to know that Carl is at home with the Lord, though we grieve at his parting from us here on earth. May God's Spirit comfort you all as you rejoice in Carl's life here on earth and look forward to joining him in eternal life with the Lord---Ron and Ellen Ritchey

Sunny and Family,
Sometimes I need things pretty simplified to try to understand, but I just envision God getting ready for a big retreat in heaven (incidentally, we're all invited), and He hasn't quite got the His Eagle Lodge completed yet. Who could be better to help Him finish the project than Carl? And I'm thinking Carl will give us our first tour when we get there! God Bless You!

Sunny, I was so sorry to hear of Carl's passing. I know you will miss him terribly.
