"Ken" Moler
SPRINGFIELD - Kenneth "Ken" Moler, 78, of Springfield, died at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 9, 2012 at his home.
Ken was born October 18, 1934 in Taylorville, the son of Huber and Ruby Peck Moler.
Ken proudly served his country in the United States Army. He worked for Fiat Allis for 27 years and was then employed at the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency until his retirement in 2001. Ken also served as Clearlake Township Clerk for 8 years.
He is survived by his companion of 27 years, Cathy "Kate" Powell of Springfield; two sons, Greg (wife, Becky) Moler of Caldwell, ID and Gary Moler of Davenport, IA; step-son, Todd (wife, Beth) Rast of Lake Havasu City, AZ; step-daughter, Jeryn Hanlon of Springfield; three grandchildren, Eldon and Addie Moler of Caldwell, ID, and Tristin Rast of Lake Havasu City, AZ; two step-grandchildren, Kate and Kassi McIntyre of Springfield; several nieces and nephews, and his cat, Jude.
Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies.
Memorial Gathering and Memorial Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 11:00a.m. until the time of the ceremony at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield with Rev. Charles Carver officiating.
Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery with military honors.
