Larry D. Jack
SHERMAN - Larry D. Jack, 72, of Sherman, died at 12:53 p.m. on Monday, December 31, 2012 at Oak Terrace Healthcare Center.
Larry was born to the late Albert and Dora Jack on August 4, 1940 in Marion, IL. He was married to Brenda (Boner) on June 1, 1963 in Marion, IL; she survives him.
Larry attended grade school and high school in Marion, and attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, where he attained his bachelor's degree and later his master's degree. He taught school in Springfield School District 186 for 30 years, retiring in 1992.
Larry was a member of the Springfield Education Association and the National Education Association. He also served as a Red Coat at Memorial Hospital for several years.
Larry was a sports enthusiast. He was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the St. Louis Rams. He also enjoyed watching Illini basketball games.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law and nephew.
He is also survived by one sister, Vicki Magis of Atlanta, GA; one brother-in-law, Jerry (wife, Diane) Boner of Rutledge, GA; two nieces and one nephew.
Cremation was accorded by Lincoln Land Cremation Society.
Larry had requested that no visitation or ceremony be held.
Private family burial will be held at Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs, GA in the family plot.
