HIGHLAND – J. Richard Cassady, 70, of Highland, Ill., passed away Thursday, January 24, 2013.
He was born July 1, 1942, in East St. Louis, Ill., the son of Theodore and Juanita (McDowell) Cassady, both of whom preceded him in death. He married Judith McCollum December 1, 1961, at the Methodist Temple Church in Chicago, Ill.
After attending MacMurray College and the University of Findley, he received an Executive MBA from the University of Illinois in Urbana, Ill., in June 1980. He was previously President and Chief Executive Officer of Spartan Printing Company, Sparta, Ill., and retired as Vice President from World Color Press in St. Louis, Mo., and Effingham, Ill.
He is survived by his former wife, Judith and second wife, Cheryl; his children, Richard B. Cassady of Springfield, Ohio, Steven J. (Catherine) Cassady of Kohler, Wis., Cara L. Cassady of Sheboygan, Wis., Daniel L. (Jennifer) Cassady of West Lafayette, Ind., and Patrick Cassady of Highland, Ill.; 8 grandchildren; 4 brothers, Dr. John M. (Nancy) Cassady, Col. David J. Cassady USMC, retired; S. Patrick (Jodine) Cassady, T. Allen (Melissa) Cassady; 1 sister, Mary (Dennis) Kepler; many nieces and nephews; and 2 stepchildren, Stephanie and William.
